As you wish. Having grown up with several thousand board-feet of oak (2x12 rough-cut) handy for the odd building projects, including ripping it down to thin laths for wine racks, I'd never dream of trying to use a jig-saw for the task. At least it'll be easier to carry back to the store . . .
