I'm tempted to suggest that an un-air-conditioned storage shed down in Houston in July might be the "easiest" way to steam the lumber. We used plywood for the deck and bottom of the sailboard and cedar for the keel, sides, and stern. The mast step was a particularly massive block of the ubiquitous oak. But we didn't have any serious need to steam anything into shape. Of course, we fiberglassed the whole hull after.
