1. We have a full workshop at the University. It is packed away due to construction. Maybe in a few weeks it will be back, but it is hard to wait and a lot of fun to try.

2. Thanks for the idea on the table saw. I will try it with James. He is bald, 26, smokes a pipe, and is about AR's size in the body - I am trying to get him to stand still long enough for a picture.

3. I have added a few pictures of the first plank on the starboard side. Almost cut to suit and fitted. Still got some work to go it. Andy was correct it is a long slow but very satisfying process.

4. I stumbled across a site which had the comment that someone who tried to use 10 inch oak planks was in for an experience in hell.

5. The problem with splining the 4 quarter planks in advance is getting the shape right. Yuo bend a one inch plank to any degree and you better have good clamps. One of these bastards broke a frame when I tried it.
