She may have been going to, it depends whether you like your bacon well done or juicy. Eggs don't take as long to cook as crisp bacon and also the white gets entangled with the rashers which tear it. I usually cook the bacon first and then the eggs in the fat as you describe, followed by fried bread to mop up the grease.
