Yep, I have stood in a baking desert in Australia in 50 degree C weather and wondered for the first time if I was a pudding to be standing there. It was Christmas 1977, I was working in the Northern Territory for the British Government.

Some would say I got my just desserts in the desert, whereas I simply say I had a great time and met - well almost no-one.

Texan biscuits are simply scones by another name.
