Why not?

Even coffee is mentioned occasionally! For example, the D's
encounter a man selling coffee (in returnable cups) on the frozen lake.
But they didn't drink coffee regularly because modern instant coffee
didn't exist, or if it did it was not yet common in Britain.
A liquid coffee essence known as "Camp Coffee" may have existed then.
It still existed when I was a child, but tasted horrible.
