Guy:

I have read more about the Jesuits in the news in the last three days than I have heard in my entire lifetime. I wonder if the Big Guy realizes the likely impact on sales of said "magazine" by firing a "liberal" editor. The world is a strange place. The one thing about the Universe stories, is the proximity to real life. The characters may look strange - but they are so human, reminds me of the stories of the long dead Parish Priest at Cessnock. He could have been in a universe movie without makeup. Then again Cardinal Cassidy seems to have been a nice chap when I called him at the Vatican. I am not sure where this is going so I shall stop and think on AR.

Is there any chance of finding out the name of the musician who sings the reel? I would really like to buy a copy of the CD. Even if we can just start with the principal of the school and I write them a nice letter. If your relatives are ever in Texas they can drop by and I can take them sailing.

I got the garboard plank on the boat. The Dolfinite literally sticks to everything. If you remember the Thompsons in Tin Tin with the sticking plaster well I was doing a passable impression last night. The instructions for the boat said to buy 160 2.5 inch copper nails, and 80 1.5 inch copper nails with roves. It takes 40 nails per plank and there are 8 rows. Not enough left over for bends, mistakes and lost nails. It took me a while to work out which nails to use on the bottom of the garboard, but I finally decided on the 2.5 inch. Also I decided that I should be able to find something that will do the job of the rove. So I spent an enjoyable hour at Lowes (Local Hardware Store) and found a Japanese made part designed to act as an extender for a socket set. I seemed to be reasonable for the job and so I purchased it, and it only cost me $4.25 plus tax of 8.25%, being about two pounds.

The dolfinite makes the plank slippery and so it is hard to hold in place while you get the clamps on. It is possible to place the plank with one person - Anne is sick so I can not ask her to stand in a drafty garage and help - but it is replete with a few words that break at least one of the ten commandments. It is also possible to rove with one person but it is very slow work.

Question: Are you supposed to mash the roves flat or do they remain proud and slightly conical?

So I am slightly proud that I have my first plank clinkered on.
