Changing the name of a boat that has had bad luck might just change it for the better. When I got my boat it had definitely been unlucky; left to rot in a fetid Florida river with a cracked deck beam under the mast.
We changed her name, fixed her up, and she took us in grand style over thousands of sea miles. The name change certainly worked for us.
