Note: I'm basing this info on my limited knowledge/guessing - the actual school terms of the 1920s/30s may have been different, especially at private/boarding schools! If anyone has some more definitive info then please get in touch.
The Walkers lived away from their parents and went to private, fee-paying boarding schools. I think I'm correct in saying that the Callums lived with their parents (in a 'town') and therefore went to schools local to their town (that may have been private, fee-paying schools). I can't recall any details being given of where the Blacketts went to school.
The English academic year starts in Late Summer, and would have been organised into 3 terms:
Late summer to mid-December
New Year to Easter
Easter to early summer
There is a 'half-term' holiday of 1 or 2 weeks, approximately at the middle of each term: October, February, May.
This statement on the AR FAQ is incorrect because Dick met Dot at a Railway Station way north of London on their way to the lakes in PP(?). Did we not agree he went to a school at Salisbury(?).
