I always thought that the way the "elders " act in Great Northern is
much more grown up than in the other books. Nancy and John are interested only
in the boat and only the younger ones go off in search of adventure.
Instead of jumping right in to the plot the elders take a lot of convincing.
I admit that John must have been alot bigger than Dick but from a real distance
it might have been possible to fool somone.
