Thanks for comments, Dave; I have bought Daiwoo(SamStore) for $90 each for all my extended families, so as to rotate the Region2 DVD's, and reports have been 100%. (They get used for Region 1 also, with the old DVD disconnected & kept in reserve). Of course for that money you dont expect them to last forever. I concentrate on DVD's because they will presumably be in use for __ years. (Same thing I suppose for the family Camcorders - as soon as the DVD-cutting equip. drops in price.)
The scenery in CC/BS (I note that BBC devote a lot of time to the birds etc) and SA is just heartbreaking. Roll on my next trip!
