And tangentially related is the Elves, Gnomes and Little Men Science Fiction, Chowder and Marching Society of Berkeley, California, familiarly known as the "Little Men", one of the oldest SF fan groups in California. I have no idea if it still exists, but it's traditional meeting place (a restaurant/bar called Brennans) has long since gone.
