A bit off-topic, but I might have guessed that Adam has Isle of Man ancestry (I presume his father's family were from the Island) because his surname begins with 'Q'. There was a Manx boy at my school with the surname 'Quirke'. He used to say that everyone there had names beginning with 'Q'. Can Adam, or anyone, confirm this?
