When I followed Claire Kendall-Price's instructions (which were based on Roger Wardale's), I found a very convincing waterfall that led into a valley with a waterfall at the head. It wasn't my own vision of Swallowdale, but looking again at the illustrations (both those of CW and those of AR himself) I could see why this could be a part of the heritage of Swallowdale - especially the fact that from 50 yards (or metres) you wouldn't know it was there. If I can find the photos I took ( but I fear they were lost in the move from the UK and/or recent house renovations) I will try to post them.
I didn't get to Miterdale, but the photos that have recently been posted show that it has some features that make it a candidate as another "source" of Swallowdale.
