I don't think that there would be any problem. I use the stuff on the rubbing strake of my steam launch which tends to get rubbed (that's what it is there for) going alongside on canals and the Broads and over the years has had to be patched in places with epoxy. The Olie just goes over everything.

Yesterday (a lovely day)we ran up from Oulton Broad to the Lock Inn at Geldeston and back, and today there are a few scratches on the rubbing strake. I wil shortly go out with sandpaper,a brush and Olie and they will vanish. Varnish would require a major repair job.
