But weren't AR's writings a political message? He made the case for a non-interventioist Britsh foreign policy with respect to Russia in his articles for the Manchester Guardian. He promoted a non-interventionist Britsh foreign policy with respect to China in ML. He promoted the cause of gender equality by making his NB his toughest character. He promoted a more sensitive approach to the environment in CC and GN.

Seems to me that if we ban the discussion of politics on Tarboard we'll end up with a very one-sided impression of our favourite author.
