Secret Water. Hum yes never thought of that. Certainly here on the west coast there are lots of small islands on the intracoastal waterways. most of the small ones are covered in Mangroves which would not make landing easy.
As we are on the Gulf of Mexico there is a very small tide movement so it is easy navigation in small boats all the time. No acres of mud as in E. Anglia.
Very much a boaters paradise.
I live with a view of the Manatee river which is very wide at that part and one can imagine looking across a lake or a very large Broad .
As to the lake idea there are of course no hills on the horizon just have to imagine them.
Dick would love it as there are huge numbers of birds both water and land varieties.
One thing I found on my visits to the UK is you see far fewer there.
Also the water is warm most of the year so falling in or swimming is more pleasant.
As to alligators they do not care for salt water very much so not a real danger Now Sharks could be a problem but not usually on the intracoastal.
Still all adds to the adventure.
Rob
