I've just been reading the 1930 reviews of S & A on the literary pages - none of them comment on the name "Titty",
so it was proably not uncommon.

However, in Secret Water, Daisy says: "You must be John, and you're Susan. And that's Roger. Which is the one with the funny name?"
It's never explained.

So either Nancy, Peggy or Titty (Tarqui?) was funny; doubt if it would be Nancy or Peggy...
