There is a wade between Havant and Hayling Island, where Chichester Harbour meets Langstone Harbour. Unfortunately, after the road bridge was built to the island, a deep-water channel was cut across the wade, so at low water you can see it leading away from the shore, and then there is a 20-yard gap before it resumes.
This gap in the wade would have been cut before AR used to sail in Chichester Harbour.
