Well, the concrete dock, the steel transformer and dock locker at the end are an awful lot harder than my boat, so I don't think I'll try this suggestion. Thanks anyway.
I'm testing a system whereby crew, if I have any, picks up a line with a loop, the other end being secured to the end cleat on the dock. The crew puts the loop over a mid-ship cleat and I power, slowly, ahead. This stops the boat in the right place, and is supposed to hold me along the dock. The stronger the wind, the more power one uses. This process has yet to be perfected though: It looks easy in the book.
