You didn't mention to our foreign friends that in England uplands are called 'Downs'!
Our place names are sourced from so many different languages... they just get bizarre, but interesting if you learn the roots.
An aside. In Ottakers bookshop in Truro last week, I spotted A.R. mugs. With the old dust jacket illustrations on them. I expect the tarboard shop already stocks them. I bought 'Winter holiday' as it's my favourite tale and 'We didn't...' for a cousin who has been a fan for many years.
You don't seem to have an on-line shop...an idea?
