I find the watch issue interesting. Nancy appears to be the only girl with one. Among the Swallows, John and Roger have them, but not Titty or Susan. Was this standard for 1930's England- boys wear watches, but not girls? I would think Susan would want a watch- perhaps after SW, she 'blued' her next birthday present on one.
