Life should be a two-way street!

Wholeheartedly agree, Peter R. For three miserable years of my life I had a boss who just would not accept that successful communication was intrinsically a two way process. To him communication was essentially about the elite giving out orders for the plebs to carry out. When there was two much lag between the giving out of orders (such as might occur when one was trying to put forward an alternative course of action) his recourse was to attempt to increase the fear factor. I am not easily bullied and I'm afraid I must have caused him several moments of angst as he wondered what to do with me.

The great thing about AR is that he manages to teach us so much and also to inspire us to want to pass what we learn on to others.

I confess that I enjoy the Monty Python moments in AR: Titty snatching Amazon from under the noses of Nancy and Peggy, the Amazons mowing a message on the lawn of Beckfoot under the nose of the GA, the Death and Glories working in the garden of Constable Tedder. However, I also agree with Peter H that there is a great deal of material in the books that deserves to be taken seriously. Where I think we disagree is the extent to which we should take ourselves seriously ;-))

Regarding the coherent metaphysical and ethical conceptual framework the Mastadon's Dilemma is a hint that maybe AR also had some difficulties in gathering all the threads that inspired him into a coherent whole.
