The speed week at Coniston Water this October was, until this year, held annually on Windermere. High powered craft compete against each other and the clock. It has been shifted for one year only to Coniston, as a result of the 10MPH speed limit being introdcued on Windermere. Next year the organisers will have to apply to use any venue of their choice.
Have just suffered a fleeting image of the Great Aunt on skis .........
