It ought to be made clear that Records Week on Coniston does not include an attempt on the open world water speed record attempted by Campbell in 1967 and currently held by Australian Ken Warby at 317.6mph. There will, however, be a "go" at the present electrically powered record.

The English team Quicksilver will be attempting to wrest the open speed record from that pesky Australian Warby on Coniston Water in January 2007. Now that the Ashes are back in their rightful place there's no reason why we shouldn't have a speed record as well. :-)
