Robert:

Yesterday I received a very nice email from a young geography student of Canadian origin. She attends Saint Mary's University in some remote corner of Canada.

She commented on a paper I had written and then went on to ask an intelligent question essentially asking the difference between a geographer and an engineer. She said the paper was written from a geography slant and not an engineering slant, and asked for my comments. She reminded me an awful lot of Dick in her writing.

So I replied and thanked her for the question, and answered the question to the best to my ability.

I then wrote to the HOD and suggested he had bright informed students. He wrote me a nice thank you letter back.

So I can report there are well read (not my paper the quality of the journal) young Canadian geography students, who are not afraid to ask serious questions.

John
