AR's maternal grandfather, Edward Baker Boulton, was a squatter in NSW and a quite prolific watercolourist, especially landscapes. AR's mother was one of the children of EBB's second family, which he started when he returned to England for many years in the late nineteenth century. There is a good recent book on EBB, which makes quite a lot of his connection with AR.
