Steam Trains are not off topic:

PP - The pigeons and the basket could not have been introduced without a train in anything like as credible a manner.

cc - meeting Tom dugeon and then having 20 minutes to talk to him, and waiting for the bridge to open.

PM - the GA arrives and leaves by train.

I gather that train travel was quite important in the 30's.

And there are other instances and I am sure when Ed arises from beneath Wilma's fury he can share them with us.
