I read Swallows and Amazons and the rest when I was a child, and have re-read them on many occasions. My two siblings and my father shared my enjoyment, but my mother, alas did not. I have two daughters of my own now - one of whom (aged 8 has read Swallows and Amazons and Swallowdale, but has balked at Peter Duck (because it's not real!) and one (11) who shows no interest. I stumbled across Tarboard when I had a question relating to a particular edition of Coot Club, and have since enjoyed the discussions hereon. It is enough for me (I haven't yet joined TARS) to know that the people who post on all subjects under the sun do so IN THIS PLACE because they share my enthusiasm for Arthur Ransome. There would be precious little new each day if the board was solely restricted to matters of the text. Please don't change the format, nor the varied views and topics ....
