I've always rated PM as one of my favourites, re-reading it as an adult it appears as one of the most subtle and most sensitively written. I never understood why Evgenia took against it. Does anyone know anything of her literary tastes? I don't care for the genre in which PD and ML are written as I do the hyper-realist style of the other books in the canon. GN, although it has its moments ( feeling the way into Scrubbers' Cove for example) just doesn't seem as well written as the others. Of course, it contains some useful omens for those who like to speculate about the future love-lives of the characters. If I remember correctly, John and Nancy disappear together for the day and Dick and Titty seem to be forming a bond, as the two who actually care for the divers rather than just dishing Jemmerling.
