Well it is Sunday morning, I have read the papers, had the coffee and skipped church. Now it is time to go and finish roving the eighth plank. Only one more plank to go on the Mary Anne after this one. I can see the light at the end of Slater Bob's tunnel.

Carrying on from the previous thread on GN.

If Dick and Titty married, say at age 22, in about 1942, let's say they had children at 25, in about 1945, then the children would be less then 60. Let's say the children were Nancy ('45), Edward ('56), and Susan ('57). So if Edward had married late, and had two children one in say 1990 and one in say 1993, then the children would be 15 and 12. Let us for pretend sake call them Dorothea and Dick we would have modern Dorothea and Dick Callum.

I wonder if it is a breach of copyright to create characters from the grandchildren of fictional characters.

Of course they could stay Holly Howe, they have a neat Aunt Susan who is married to some old codger Peter Hyland from Chester, who swears one day he will learn to sail.

Dick of course is at school at Salisbury (do I have this right), and would be looking forward to his holidays in ????? When are the Engllish holidays? Where would Dot be going to school? Edward is a nuclear physicist and mates with Stephen Hawking, although he has always disagreed with Hawking's view that no information can escape a black hole.

The children visit their paternal grandparents who have retired to Rio, DIck loves his grandfather who has a great chemistry room.

Could be a neat story.

Just a thought.
