Hugh Brogan says of AR’s writing technique that he used to start off with an outline of the story and chapters. When he came to choose what to write each day, he would pick out a chapter for that day rather than write them in the order in which they would appear in the book ie not 1, 2, 3 ... (or I, II, III?). Perhaps just a short chapter, or a longer one if he felt like it.

But evidently no full outline for GN has survived, just various fragments. Did he get plots for any other books from friends (like Miles North for GN)?
