The original information was not quite right; I have just heard from Shiela. Ian died in his sleep, in his bunk aboard "Patience", after an evening in the Jolly Sailor with Rob Williamson and of course Misty, Ian's elderly border collie.
There will be a memorial service at Heybridge Basin on the 6th November.
