When I was a teenager, a couple of years ago, I enjoyed Reader's Digest and read it most months. I don't know whether its cause or effect but I am afraid that I now have a very wide but mostly shallow general knowledge. I am excellent at Trivial Pursuit for example. However, the effort of studying in depth material is tiresome for me. I prefer to skim unless its a subject that really captures my interest.
