Somewhere in the books (can't remember where offhand) the G.A. orders Capn Flint 'up the fell' to smoke his pipe. Say what you like about the G.A., but the old girl is bang up-to-date. Every day I see office workers puffing away outside on the pavement - forbidden to smoke inside.
