My old man, when he was about 37, and hence younger than I am now by a long way taught me to tie the bowline as:
1. Make a rabbit hole
2. Bunny up the hole,
3. Bunny behind the tree for a quick pee
4. Bunny down the hole again.
If I tie that knot I still do it to that mantra as it is deeply ingrained in my mind.
