I admit to never having read either Blyton or Saville- I'll have to add them to the list. Of course, I didn't discover Ransome until adulthood either.
My own childhood reading (besides the good Doctor- Seuss, that is) was primarily Bobbsey Twins, Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, and others of that ilk. As well, I have had a lifelong fondness for dog and horse stories.
