Wayne Hammond’s Bibliography of AR says that the first (Cape) editions all cost 7/6d or seven shillings and sixpence, apart from PM (8/6d) & GN (9/-).

The numbers for each first edition increased from 2000 for the first three titles. The wartime printings, especially ML & PM, were large!

SA 2000
SD 2000
PD 2000
WH 5000
CC 4000
PP 5000
WD 6000
SW 10,000
BS 12,000
ML 20,500
PM 22,750
GN 11,000 in the first printing? There were 44,500 in 3 printings prior to (first) publication.

Wayne Hammond has details of the minor differences between editions, eg corrections of the dialogue in Holland in WD from a Dutchman, which for some reason were dropped from later editions.
