There's a link to an online version of Bannerman's LBS here. In this story LBS defeats the tigers in a similar way to the rouses employed by Anansi. But this is a completely different story to the one referred to by Jim Hadfield where LBS scrubs his face until it's pink, which Jim atributes to Blyton.
To my mind, the latter story is racist and should never be reprinted, but I wouldn't suppress the former just because Bannerman uses 'Sambo', 'Mumbo' and 'Jumbo' as names.
My position is not that we should never edit, censor or suppress a published text, but that this is a dangerous practice and that we should require a very strong case before taking such action.
