Of course today they could have just Emailed Ted and heard sraight away and been on the Island next day.
Only of course to find it was full of Boy Scouts and Tourists.
Perhaps the long wait was worth it.
I remember waiting for replies to letters as a child it was torment running to the letterbox every time the postman came then a feeling of depression if he did not bring the reply. or elation if he did and was as I wanted.
