I wonder if anyone in TARS could assist in my search for information on Miss Muriel Wiles, her yacht `Keryl` and her connection with Arthur Ransome.

I purchased `Keryl` just over a year ago and was told she had been named by Ransome who was `a dear and old friend` of Miss Wiles.

Since my purchase of the boat I have been lucky in tracking down a previous owner who has letters from Miss Wiles confirming this to be true, photographs of the boat under construction in 1937 in Harry Kings yard at Pin Mill and who refered me to the book `Nancy Blackett` by Roger Wardale which mentions Miss Wiles and `Keryl` at Pin Mill in 1938.

Any help in tracing the early history of my yacht would be greatly appreciated, all I can offer in return is access to the photographs taken by Miss Wiles. Ransome`s diarys (see `Nancy Blackett`) recount the tale of the construction of his yacht `Selina King` in Kings yard. Miss Wiles` photographs taken only a year previously illustrate the scene beautifully.

Many thanks to anyone who can offer help or advice,

Kind regards,

Simon Woodhouse.
