I'm just re-reading Swallowdale and believe I may have spotted an error.
While the Swallows are setting up their new camp in Swallowdale John buildsa stone pillar to set the parrot's cage on. It says that he capped it with a limestone slab. As far as I know there is not a gread deal of limestone in the Lake District. Ransome is usually very good at getting his facts right is this one of his few slips? Or is my geology at fault (Dick would have known!)
