As Jock has pointed out, this thread is perhaps losing its interest for others, but Peter C did post a fairly controversial set of assertions which he must expect to be challenged. The 'give away' here was the wording used - 'aristocrat', 'bourgeois' and 'peasant' - words redolent of the 18th and early 19th centuries but not found today except in old Marxist tracts. You certainly won't find them in the 'Daily Sport' which I saw this morning in the newsagent's, and whose front page seemed totally concerned with rabbit-like activities. I doubt if the Duchess of Devonshire reads it, any more than I do. I repeat - AR seemed determined to judge everyone on their merits, judging by his books. It might be a better world if we all did the same. And there I'll end.
