Thanks Adam for that note of recognition.

I am sure I am not the only one that tries to visit the LAKELANCAM on a daily basis, as Tony's photographic expertise and his eye for SEEING the beauty of that place has produced a daily delight.

I have not had the pleasure of actually being in the Lake District, not counting the many trips I vicariously made while reading the lake stories by Ransome. His photos have done so much to make even more real the mental images that Ransome's words have conjured for my mind's eye. For anyone that loves these lake stories, especially if they have not actually been there to see for themselves, a daily visit with Tony's LAKELANDCAM.CO.UK is well worth the effort.

Don't remember exactly when I started those daily visits, but it has been several years that not only do I look at those photos, but I also download and save these on my hard drive. From time to time, I archive these collections onto a CD. So far, I have 6264 photos from this source. They take roughly 434M of drive space.

The WINDOWS XP system allows me to define a screen saver mode that produces a SLIDE SHOW that randomly selects a photo from some tree of folders. With this many fantastic photos to choose from, that slide show changes every 6 seconds and thrills me with another glimpse of the beauty of that place. With that many pictures providing the selection, quite often the one currently on display for its six seconds of glory is one that maybe I do not remember having seen before, which just adds to the thrill.

Perhaps there are those that say I spend too many hours in rapt attention to that ever changing montage of scenery. One can never spend too much time appreciating beauty, and especially appreciating the photographer's skill with his eye and his camera, and his will to daily make his rounds walking in all kinds of weather.

We should all be grateful to that little faithful black dog of his that makes those walks with him, leading him to the best places to catch those wonderful views.

Thanks Tony...
