My wife and I are planning to spend much of the week starting April 23 in Norfolk. I'd like to visit as much as possible of the places mentioned by AR in his books set there, which I now re-reading. I do have a copy of "Ransome Broadside" and have noted the several allusions in Signals from Sept-Dec 2005. including the Walton Day article, the mention of the Norfolk Heritage Fleet and the possibility of a leaflet about AR connections in the Broads. This has all whetted my appetite.
However, I could use some pointers on what are the must-see sights, advice on what towns to use as a touring base (we will have a hire car), perhaps even some recommended B&Bs or hotel and places to eat. Most of all, I would be grateful for suggestions about guided outings on boats suitable for two non-sailors. I believe, for instance, that the heritage wherry runs don't start until May.
Thanks in advance for any advice which can be sent to me directly or posted to the discussion forum, depending on whether you think it is of general interest.
