I would also suggest a visit to the Ransome grave at the beautiful
Rusland Church, with dinner at the Mason's Arms, Strawberry Bank,
Cartmel Fell, on the way (passing Low Ludderburn & Barkbooth if you like.
You'll need a good map, and a reasonable sense of direction!
Also if you're energetic, a quick stroll up "Gummer's How" at the
foot of Windermere (if it sunny, and not too cold) gives good views.
