Wolpert 'cheerful'? Most definitely. The excellent article you reference does describe him to a 'T'- and while it does mention his two depressive episodes, he comes across there as he does in life, lively, friendly, crackling with fun and interest. I worked in the same office with him for a few delightful weeks on a TV series called 'Antenna', which he presented. Definitely fascinated, fascinating and cheerful.
