I think "three chears" and "hip, hip, hurrah" (or "hurray") is fairly widespread in the U.S. at least in terms of being familiar with it - although I would agree with Ed that it isn't used much if at all in society at large.

My favorite usage of all time was in a send-up skit of "Star Trek" done at the Westercon Science Fiction convention in 1967, which includeed a song to Mr. Spock including the refrain "give 3.1416 cheers to the science officer with pointed ears!" And ended with "hip, hip, hurray! hip, hip, hurray! hip, hip, hurray! Hip!"

Someone asked about the last "hip" and the explanation was that it was the residual .1416 of the cheer.
