I follow this board mostly to learn more about the Ransome books, but I very much appreciate the opportunity to be exposed to English life and traditions, present & past.
A recent thread having to do with gravity-fed plumbing was interesting to me (but likely not to most others), given what I was told about the hot water tank upstairs by a friend posted at Mildenhall a couple of decades ago. Neither of us could work out why England used gravity-fed hot water. Now I know.
Each and every thread has value to someone, and most of them have value to me.
If one is somehow offensive, skip it.
But leave it for me. I'll enjoy it.
