My 1967 edition must have been tidied, as it has Dogs' Home throughout. You can make out the lettering on the picture of Nancy opening the door, but it's hard to be certain about the apostrophe. There's something that could be either an apostrophe or a bit of wood grain between DOG and S. After the S, a long white piece of the grain would obscure any apostrophe.
